Historical Sketch of WASHINGTON STATE COLLEGE 1 by Enoch Albert Bryan, President of the State College 1893 to 1916
This is an almost like new first edition volume in excellent condition with virtually no wear to any edges or corners - only a very minor almost undetectable couple of scratches to rear board with no coloration change. Printed by the Alumni Association of Pullman circa 1928, beautifully bound in maroon cloth hard cover with titleing on spine and the front cover in gilt. Deckle edged pages except for the gilt top, 9&3/4" x 12" tall, 556 pages. Inside the front cover is a presentation sticker giving this book to my mother (whom I believe graduated in 1926) by the Alumni Association in 1976, her 50th class reunion.
Loaded with photos and illustrations of buildings, the campus, and people of the college including faculty, administrators and students. Wonderful foldout in the middle with panoramic shots taken in 1896 and 1909. Bryan not only tells about the good things but also goes into some of the dirty laundry of things that went on at the time. It's not at all "dry crackers" reading. Because this book is so tight, I did not flatten it out to take scans of the inside as I felt it could possibly harm the virtually pristine binding.
